Stilettos and Diapers: July 2015

Tassel Crazy

Tassels are everywhere and I sure hope they aren't out anytime soon. My closet is full of them and I want to add all these pieces to it!

Best Tassel Pieces

I'm starting to focus on post baby pieces. I want to have some new things to make me feel a little more normal after the baby is born and I'm not ready to be fitting in my normal clothes yet. This usually means lots of accessories for me!

Are you a fan of the tassel trend?

Fashion || Skinnies and Prints in Charleston

We went to Charleston over the weekend and had the best time. I'd like to think of it as a baby moon…just with all the kids. Haha. I'll tell you all about the trip soon, because you should know about all the delicious food we ate and the cool things to see in Charleston, even with kids!

But first, I'll show you some of what I wore. I carried the camera everywhere we went for pictures of the city and the hubs was able to snap some pics for me when the kids were entertaining themselves. Which, by the way, was never on the way to dinner when I was all put together. The heat and humidity did nothing for my hair and makeup!

Summer Mocktail Sangria Recipe

There isn't much tastier in the summertime than a good sangria, am I right? I must admit that I've been missing fruity cocktails this summer and that's why I've been sharing some fun mocktail recipes! This particular one uses two different kinds of Fre Alcohol-removed wines. One, a brut, which is delicious. It's has the taste of a good, dry champagne, which happens to be my favorite beverage. A la, Heather of the Real Housewives OC.
Fre Brut Champagne

The other is a chardonnay, which adds a bit of sweetness to the recipe and balances out the bubbly.

Ready for the recipe? It's very simple and is best if you can make it a day ahead of serving. The fruit adds a lot of flavor after sitting awhile, but don't worry. You can drink it immediately, too!

Summer Sangria with Fre Wine

2 lemons, sliced into rings
2 limes, sliced into rings
6 strawberries, sliced
1.2 cup blueberries
1/2 bottle Fre Brut
1/2 bottle Fre Chardonnay
2 tsp grenadine
1/2 cup club soda

Slice fruit and put into desired container. This can be a pitcher, or a big bowl so people can ladle out some fruit with their drink. Pour wines, grenadine and club soda over fruit and chill, overnight if possible.
Summer Sangria Recipe

Did you know you should gently roll citrus before you slice it? Makes the juices come out more and you want all those yummy juices for this sangria! This recipe can easily be doubled, with the full bottle of both wines if you're serving it for a group.
Summer Mocktail Sangria Recipe

I like the Fre wines because they're actual wine with the alcohol removed. Not a sticky sweet grape juice. The de-alcoholization process leaves less than 0.5% of alcohol, making it perfect for those who can't or choose to not drink alcohol. Another added benefit is half the calories of traditional wine. Win!

What is your favorite summertime cocktail? Every tried a mocktail version of it?

Fashion || Whites and Florals: 33 Weeks Pregnant

Let's pretend these pictures weren't taken in 95 degree weather after we'd been outside for 45 minutes, mmkay? I'm loving the pop of floral in this breezy kimono from Pink Blush Maternity. I think it will be perfect post baby, too!

How Far Along: 33 weeks
Size of baby: 19" and 4.5 lbs
Total Weight Gain: 24 lbs. Less than either of the boys!
Maternity Clothes: Still mixing.
Gender: Baby boy
Movement: Yep!
Sleep: Decent this week, but that's because I've had the bed to myself, I think!
What I miss: This week I'm feeling good!
Cravings: Fruit
Symptoms: Still having contractions, but so grateful that I'm not having to do any type of bed rest like I had to with both my previous pregnancies.
What I’m looking forward to: We're getting a king sized bed in a couple weeks! I think it's going to change my life. Haha.

I've gotten tons done this week, including washing all the baby clothes and moving a lot of stuff around to make room for little man. My family is coming next weekend, so I'm getting ready to host 11 extra people in the house!

Master Bedroom Makeover

In the midst of all my nesting over the past couple months, we've turned linen closets into toy closets, swapped the boys rooms, set up a nursery and painted the entire downstairs.

One of the last things to be done, is our master bedroom. We haven't done anything to it since we moved in and it's visible to guests unless we close the door. Our master is downstairs, which will be fantastic post baby, but means I want to have it all looking beautiful like yesterday

In a couple weeks, we will be changing our queen to a king (finally!) which also means getting rid of our bed frame, which is part of the set I got when I graduated high school. I still love the dark wood, but not sure if we'll buy another headboard, go without, build a pallet one…who knows.

My other issue, is bedding. I'm a sucker for white bedding. We've had white and khaki for 10 years and it's faired decently, so I'm actually considering it right before having a baby. It can be cloroxed, right?!

This is our current bedroom, which is really the colors I'd like to stick with, possibly getting some grey on the walls.
Neutral Master Bedroom

Here are some of my inspiration rooms. I realize there are several that are completely different styles, so I'm just a confused person. I also realize that I have carpet and a ceiling fan, which makes for a different look than these Pottery Barn-esque rooms, but I still want to do something in the neutral/grey/white scheme.

So what do you think? Should I brave the all white bedding? Paint the walls grey? Buy a headboard? Just hang pictures above the bed? Baby W's new bassinet is grey and white, so it will match perfectly in our new room!

What Molly Wore: Summer Maternity Style

I'm basically a cleaning, organizing, baby prepping fool this week. We got all the back to school shopping done yesterday so I'm prepared for that and today I have many, many loads of tiny baby clothes in the laundry room. I can't wait to have it all put away!

Since I'm currently wearing pajamas that consist of the Hubs size large college shirt, today I'll share what I've been wearing on Instagram!

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Under $100

After a little digging in the Nordstrom Anniversary sale, I found a lot of good stuff under $100! I don't need anything else summery, especially being pregnant right now, but I found lots of good fall and transition to fall pieces. It will be nice to have some new stuff for after baby is born!

1. Halogen Knit Dress - Very elegant, but still super comfy knit.
2. Socialite Ruffle Hem Dress - I'd wear this with riding boots and knee socks!
3. Topshop Body-con Dress - May be a bit before I can wear this, but it's so chic.
4. Sam Edelman Leopard Flats - Very versatile, so comfy!
5. Topshop Sweater Dress - This looks so comfy for fall with my post baby bump.
6. Halogen Slub Knit Tee - Tons of solids and stripes.
7. Lucky Cigarette Jeans - I think these are a great blend of fitted and lose.
8. Threads Studio Crochet Tee - 2 other colors available.
9. Halogen Side Slit Tee - 3 other colors available.
10. Madison and Berkeley Tunic - 3 other colors.
11. Sam Edelman Pump - I picked these for the nude version. A closet staple!
12. Sperry Rain Boot - I adore these. They also come in navy and oatmeal.

I didn't add these Sam Edelman booties because they're $110, but they're SO cute! I love the fringe detail.

I also have the new Butter Bloody Brilliant Lip Crayon in the color Tea With The Queen and have been wearing it constantly. There's a great sale on this Butter Neutrals set that includes 2 polishes and the Lip Crayon!

Prices go back up August 5, but great items are selling out quick!

Fashion || Casual Stripes: 32 Weeks Pregnant

This is my new idea of a comfortable maternity outfit. Flowing dresses and comfy shoes, I just can't be bothered with the high heels for an all day affair anymore. And yes, I am drinking iced coffee, although it's mostly decaf. The night before these photos, Callan was up at 2am having a snack, which means I wasn't able to fall back asleep. That is my biggest complaint right now!

I got a package from Pink Blush Maternity this week. They have the cutest stuff and it's so nice to have a few new things here at the end. One dress I got is nursing friendly and may be what I wear home from the hospital. Yes, I've already been planning that outfit!

How Far Along: 32 weeks
Size of baby: 19" and 4lbs
Total Weight Gain: 24 lbs! I jumped quite a bit at my drs appointment this week!
Maternity Clothes: Still a mix. One day this week was no maternity clothes, the next was everything bump friendly.
Gender: Baby boy.
Movement: Yep!
Sleep: Good when I'm asleep, bad when I get woken up and can't fall back to sleep!
What I miss: Sleep, obviously, and being able to do regular stuff like pick things up off the ground.
Cravings: I'm just not hungry. I think I'm too full of baby.
Symptoms: I'm having a lot of contractions and stretchy, crampy stuff. I don't think this one is making it to September 4!
What I’m looking forward to: I asked the Hubs to get all the baby clothes out of the basement so I can wash them. My goal is to have them all washed and my bags packed in July!

Anyone shopping Nordstrom's big Anniversary? We're meeting friends at the pool today, but I'm going to have to take a look when we get home. I want to stock up on post baby goods!

Happy Friday!

The Produce Box: Fresh To Your Door!

Have you ever wished you could get your groceries delivered to your door? Well, look what showed up on my porch the past couple of weeks!
The Produce Box, Produce Delivery
The Produce Box is a North Carolina based company that directly delivers fresh, local produce to you! You choose the type of box you'd like off of the weekly menu and voila
The Produce Box

My first box was full of great organics; blueberries, cucumbers, tomatoes, red potatoes, basil and hydroponic butter lettuce.
Organic Vegetable Delivery
My second box, I chose simply for the corn! We all love corn and I was up for seeing what North Carolina had to offer. I also loved the butter lettuce so much the week before, that I was excited to get it again.
Local produce delivery

Dinner one night last week was the yummy corn and some of the blueberries on a spinach salad. Another nice feature of The Produce Box, is that they send you a card with a few recipes that you can use your produce on.
Spinach Salad, Corn, London Broil

The absolute best part about The Produce Box, is their support of local farmers. I would much rather support them, than go through a big box store, where produce comes from who knows where and sits for who knows how long. Originally just in Raleigh, you can now get a box of produce in the Charlotte area and they're growing! Check out the variety of boxes and use code STILETTOS to get $5 off. You can chose to have the same recurring box, hand pick weekly, or skip the week. They're very flexible. Let me know if you try them out!
