Stilettos and Diapers: April 2015

Fashion // Dress and Booties: 21 weeks pregnant

I think I'd be okay just living in dresses for the rest of the summer. I'm especially loving this one from J. Jill! It's flowy, but not huge and insanely comfortable. I love getting pieces that aren't maternity, because I can not only wear them now, but later. I think I'm really lucky with all the elastic waist shorts and maxis in this year!

Fashion // Florals and Brights: 20 weeks pregnant

The weather here is so confused and I'm really done with all the rain! I wore this over the weekend and although we were on day who-knows-how-many of rain, I decided to be bright with my 20 week belly. If the weather can't be, at least I can!

Tank ($6!) | Jeans | Shoes c/o | Bracelet | Necklace | Bag

Let's talk about 2 really important parts of this outfit. First up, these comfy kicks. Florals and bold colors are a huge trend this summer and I can't think of a better way to wear them than on you feet! A fun patterned shoe adds so much to an outfit, don't ya think? Jeans and a tank top aren't that exciting, but add in this fun tropical pattern, or a bright color and you've got a look! I got these from Rack Room Shoes and they have lots of other great options, from super casual like mine, to work ready!

I wanted to tell you preggo mamas how much I love these jeans, too. I've never had the side panel ones in my previous pregnancies and I'm loving them at the halfway point of this pregnancy. Also, they're $28 and I bought mine with a coupon, so $21! Can't beat it!

Outlet Malls: Designer Duds, Mom Budget

Y'all know how much I love to shop and even more how much I love a good deal. One place that I really love shopping at, is an outlet mall. There is always so much variety and at such great prices.

I was super excited when Charlotte got a brand new outlet mall last year, the Charlotte Premium Outlets
I've been several times and always find good stuff. They have a huge variety of stores, with some of my favorites being Kate Spade New York, Banana Republic, Carters, Charlotte Russe and Old Navy.

Today, I'm going to be taking over the outlet's Twitter account and showing you just what great things you can find on your next trip to the Charlotte Premium Outlets. So follow along on my shopping adventures!

If you're local to the Charlotte area, you don't want to miss the Indulge Event on Thursday, May 7th! From 5-8pm, ladies can enjoy a fun night to indulge yourself with fashion, cooking demos, enter-to-win contest, prizes and more! A variety of retailers will be showcasing new products and offering special promotions and anyone who spends $150 will receive a Simon cosmetic bag. There's also going to be various food trucks, so grab your girlfriends for a night out at Charlotte Premium Outlets!
Don't forget to follow me and Charlotte Premium Outlets on Twitter today for some shopping fun. I'll be back to tell you all about my time there and all the good things I find!

7 Years a Momma.

I'm an emotional sap, y'all. My sweet boy, the one who made me a momma, is 7 today. He's been telling people he's 7 for about 2 months, so you would think I'd be ready, but I'm not. It's going too fast. It feels like yesterday that I had a labor and delivery that I didn't expect and my not so little one came home from the hospital, in his size 3 month clothes.

I'm walking down memory lane today, remembering all his previous Birthday's and wondering how we've already had so many!

His first one was at Disney World.

But we had to have another celebration when we got back home to California.
We were living in a hotel in DC when he turned 2. He rode his new tricycle around the halls like a boss.
His 3rd Birthday was in Virginia and he had a Toy Story party
4th Birthday was a Cars bash and it's here that I see that he started looking like a little boy, not a baby.

His 5th was his last at our house in Virginia, filled with Ninja Turtles and lots of his little friends.
We went Super Mario crazy for his 6th and first Birthday here in Charlotte.
We went to dinner last night at his favorite sushi restaurant. Yes, sushi. Boy has good taste.

This morning, I snuck into his room with breakfast in bed before he had to go to school.
His Big Hero 6 party isn't for a couple more weeks, but we'll be celebrating today around school and baseball games!

I'm so very happy to be this one's mom. He makes me smile every day and constantly amazes me with how smart he is. I can't wait to see him be big brother to another little one. He makes my heart so proud!

Happy 7th, buddy. I love you, Cooperman!

What Molly Wore: Spring Edition

Goodness gracious, it's been a busy week. I'm about exhausted from all the school activities we've had. Yesterday's walking over 5 miles at the zoo, while pushing a stroller up and down hills almost did me in! This pregnancy is definitely proving to be a bit harder on my body than my past two.

I haven't gotten many posts in this week, including my second week missing a bump post. Maybe I can get my act together tomorrow. For now, here's what I've been wearing on Instagram so far this spring!

Jacket | Top | Pants: sold out, similar | Shoes (Sale for $19.99!) | Bag: Magic Kingdom in Black | Necklace

Littles Lately

It's been awhile since I've given you an update on two little cuties in my life. I love the idea of the Mother's One Line a Day book to keep track of funny things they say and do and have seen a lot of people using it lately. I'm just not sure if I will actually keep up with it? Anyone using it?

Life has been busy lately. I feel like having a kid in school is basically a part time job, no? In one week only, we have field day, an all day field trip and an early release day. That's on top of all the lunch packing and time spent sitting in the pickup line. I can't help but think about how much time I'll be spending at schools once I have 3 kids there!

The 6 days from 7 year old, who has 2 missing teeth and is planning a birthday party worthy of My Super Sweet 16, is getting bigger by the second. He went to bed last night and woke up an inch bigger, I swear. How does this happen?
Stilettos and Diapers: FabKids for boys
A typical after school chat with him lately, is something like this: "I want a video game birthday party. No, an Australian birthday party. Remember Alexander and the Terrible Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day? I'd like those Australian cowboys like he had. My friends would love them! And Kangaroos! Can we have a separate day where we take my super best friends out on the boat? And their dads? How about we pack a cooler with SODA! and chips!? I'd like to eat sushi at my favorite place on my birthday night. But I have a baseball game, so lets eat there another night and have Cookout after my game? Oh and can I have an iPhone 6 as my gift?"

The answer to the last question is a negative, by the way.

He loves to talk and talk a lot. He came home yesterday with a perfect report card and a note from his teacher that he's a leader in his class. I'm so proud of him and at the same time concerned that I won't be able to help with his homework by 5th grade. He loves art and reading, but his favorite subject is math. He's often caught sneaking a book at night, or waking up early to read. Still not sure how he's my child...

He always has to go to the bathroom the minute we get somewhere. And he doesn't really like to use public bathrooms. Luckily, as a boy mom, it's easy to keep water bottles in the car and they work perfectly for potty breaks. Unfortunately, things then happen like happened after church this week. I was getting Callan out of nursery, while The Hubs and Coop went to the car. We were headed home, when I picked up my Panera coffee from the cup holder and took a big swig. Well, my friends, it wasn't Panera coffee

Many thanks to the ones who failed to mentioned they used my cup as a urinal.

Callan, the 3.5 year old who calls our new baby Mosquito, is a constant joy and constant handful. My house never saw such destruction with 3.5 year old Cooper.

His habit, as of late, is rubbing his forehead on the floor, enough to get carpet burn, every time I put him in time out. Which, let's face it, is quite often. I'm not sure where the three-nager learned to threaten with things like "I have to play the iPad or I'm going to be sick!". He is so very sweet, hugging, kissing and saying in his most genuine voice "I'm sorry you drank that pee". Pretty embarassing in public, let me tell ya. 5 seconds later, he's pitching a matchbox car at his brother and sending his toys to jail.

He absolutely loves going to his class at church. He has memorized several scripture verses and tells them to us every night. He's trying hard to keep up with his big brother and often memorizes his verses, too. He told a friend pregnant with twins that "you should name those two babies in your belly Joseph and Jesus". Who he had learned about in class just the day before.

He tells me all the time "I love you Mom, you're such a good mom." He can totally melt my heart! I'm so grateful that he is fully potty trained now! It's so weird not having to buy diapers anymore, but totally awesome. He often keeps his Paw Patrol undies on during nap time and sometimes opts for them instead of a pull-up for sleep and hasn't had any accidents in bed, so wahoo! I had some comments about how we finally got him trained and I can just say, you have to wait until they're ready. We talked a ton about it and did a lot of encouraging, but until he got excited about it, it wasn't happening.

These two really couldn't be more different. One quiet and one outgoing. One won't eat melted cheese, food that touches or any kind of sandwich, while the other will eat basically anything put in front of him. The fun thing, is that they bring so much joy to our lives and I can't wait to see how little man #3 adds to the mix.

They both do love new clothes from FabKids, which never disappoints them. These are their favorites right now, Callan's "man shirt" and Cooper's love of baseball right on clothing. I'm so excited to have the summer clothes now! Aren't the much more fun that winter?

At the end of the day, I'm a mom and they're brothers. Which means most of my day is spent with scenes like this.

Breastfeeing, Bottle Feeding and the Go-Between

September of 2008 had me in Las Vegas for a work trip with the hubs, my 4.5 month old firstborn in tow. I was struggling to get comfortable with breast feeding and opted to leave my manual pedal pump at home and bring along an enormous, rented hospital pump. Needless to say, I wasn't that successful pumping and leaving the bottles with my parents, who came along to babysit during the fancy dinners. I ended up back in their room multiple times, nursing a baby who didn't like his bottle.

(10th Anniversary) Wedding Invitations with Minted

Do you ever think about having another wedding? My wedding was 10 years ago this year and while I loved our wedding, there are so many things I would love to do if I got to do it again!

We've been talking about having a 10 year Anniversary party this year and I'm so excited just looking at things and thinking about some plans.

Outside of looking at the gorgeous dresses I would like to wear, the other thing I may find myself looking at from time to time, is invitations. I've already scoured Minted, looking at some of their gorgeous invitations. With 100 new designs, they have a TON to choose from.
These are some of my favorites:

If you have invitation needs coming up in the near future, check out Minted! I will be shopping with them for baby #3's newborn announcements, too. That is as long as I get my act together and order them before Christmas cards. Hehe.

Friday Favorites: Pregnancy Essentials

Currently, I'm 19 weeks pregnant with #3. I've had some things in my previous pregnancies that I considered necessary, and even more of them now. There's also a ton of new stuff since I was pregnant 4 years ago. These are some of my current must haves.

Bump Nest - I cannot sing the praises of this pregnancy pillow enough. I was having a terrible time getting comfortable early in the pregnancy and waking up multiple times a night. The first night I used the BumpNest, I woke up in the morning to the hubs telling me I was snoring! Not usually something I do, but a sure sign of a good night's sleep for me! It curves so you have front, back and head support all in one. I don't even use a regular pillow anymore and it alleviates my fear of rolling onto my back while I'm asleep. I was a little concerned about how much space it would take up, since we have a queen sized bed and a 6'3" hubby, but it doesn't take up any more space than my body and regular pillow that I used before. I also stay put at night, which gives the hubs more space without me flailing into him.

basq Products - My favorite being the Resilient Body Stretch Mark Oil. Y'all, it feels dreamy. I haven't had the normal itchy skin that I usually have while pregnant since I've been using it. It's 100% botanical oils that help prevent and and repair stretch marks. I put it on right after a shower while my pores are open and let it soak in before getting dressed. I do have a few light stretch marks from Callan, so I'm going to try their Vanishing Stretch Mark Serum post baby. Celebrities rave about these products and now I see why!

Amazon Prime - I'm not really sure how I'd have anything in my house without my beloved Prime. Lately, I've gotten baseball equipment, Easter gifts, deodorant, face cream and an acrylic cosmetic container for my bathroom. Everything comes to my door in 2 days, well before this very tired mom could get to the store. It's totally worth the yearly membership, (especially around the holidays!) and comes with video streaming and kindle books. Can't beat it! I think I may try Amazon grocery, too, getting closer to when the baby is born. I can't imagine trying to shop with 3 children...
Crunchy Mamas about to Pop! - I've been putting this on every night, to help keep my skin moisturized. It's a funky green color, that I was warned can get on your clothing, so that's why I do it at night. I love the push-up stick and how easily it applies. I still feel like my belly is soft and moisturized when I wake up the next morning. I also have their honey-lemon lip balm and baby lotion stick which are awesome, as well. Yes, I know I should save the baby lotion for the actual baby, but I like it too much!
Glass Camelbak - I don't know how you are when pregnant, but I'm super sensitive to smells and tastes. I went from a plastic Camelbak to this one right when I found out I was pregnant and this one is SO much better. It doesn't have a weird taste like I get in a plastic cup and glass is supposed to be healthier anyway. I carry it everywhere, trying to drink the vast amounts of water we're supposed to have!

I'm sure this list will grow as my belly does, but for now, these are my faves! What are your pregnancy essentials? Any products I should try?
