Camo and Burgundy {Fashion}

Sometimes, my country girl wants to come out and I end up at church in camouflage. My little sis would be at church in camo and have a pink, glittery pocket knife in her pocket, so at lease I feel a little more city-fied than her!

Speaking of my family, we're headed down to Georgia this weekend! We're going to load up the boys just as their sugar high is making them super tired and get down to the beach. We'll be there to celebrate Callan's Birthday tomorrow. I still can't believe my baby is going to be 3!

Hope you all have a Happy Halloween today! My boys didn't want to coordinate this year, but they both look super cute in their costumes. I'll post about it next week, I'm sure!

Fall When It's 80 Degrees {Fashion}

Last week I was all knee high boots and pumpkin spice lattes. This week, it's 80 degrees out and I just want to lay out at the pool. Is it November or July?! I love fall and the clothing that comes along with it, so I had to make due with fall trends, with summer temps.

I'm pretty sold on this hat I got on the BOGO 50% off sale, even though Cooper took it and said he was Indiana Jones. Hahaha. I'm also loving my new subscription to RocksBox. Jewelry on loan until you return it, then when you do, you get more! A fun way to add new pieces into my closet for a little bit!

Dates and Paints

The weekend was so fun. It was our first in awhile without real plans and we managed to fill it right up. Friday night, we had Cooper's end of football season party. He got a trophy and cupcake, which is the main reason he plays sports.

Saturday morning, I surprised Cooper with a date to one of his favorite restaurants for breakfast. I had been waiting several weeks to do it, since our Saturday mornings have been so busy. He was so excited! I've never seen a 6 year old love a buffet quite as much as he does.
He seriously gets his money's worth, even if most of it is in baked goods.
Afterwards, we met the other boys at Sherwin Williams. We decided to go balls to the wall and get our house decorated and painted! Decided on the color Backdrop for our dining, living and mudroom.
We got distracted by the gorgeous weather, so instead of painting, we spent the rest of the day on the lake.
Caught a gorgeous sunset while the boys hung out and let us relax a bit.
I made the boys match for church Sunday morning. I have a feeling it won't last much longer, so I'm pushing the twinning while I can!
Sunday afternoon, after a little painting, I took Coop to the pumpkin patch for a birthday party. Pumpkin and face painting, tomato shooting, hayrides, cupcakes and playing with his little friends was so fun to watch. It was close to 80 out, so we ended the day with ice cream!
Cooper's been in a real mommy phase for the last couple weeks. The hubs doesn't love it one bit, but he can deal, because he's been a daddy's boy for the past several months! So funny how they change.
When we got home, I found the hubs had finished painting the 2 front rooms. Is there anything better than your man finishing the to-do list?!
I started on the mudroom that night and finished it yesterday. The rest of my house looks like a tornado went through it, since paint is all I've been focused on. But, it's been totally worth it because I LOVE the paint!
Sherwin Williams Backdrop
These aren't the best pictures, since they're just from my phone, but we're doing all sorts of stuff around here and I'll show you some real pictures soon!

Getting active with lucy {Fashion}

Nothing makes a sweat sesh better than good workout clothes. I love when I feel in style in my workout wear and when it's versatile enough to wear for other happenings. It probably comes as no surprise that I'm incorporating my love of stripes into all areas of my wardrobe.

I can do like...anything.

Last night was my third night of solo bedtimes this week. The lack of a second adult while wrangling 2 small humans to bed is surprisingly debilitating. One of the 3 nights, there was a 2 hour ordeal with a certain 2 year old, who insists on pushing my every button these days. I've use all my day's energy, and then some, carrying people to time out. I find I'm too tired to do the dinner dishes and too overwhelmed to start cleaning once there is finally quiet upstairs.

And at that point, if you're my neighbor, please refrain from using table saws, shutting your car doors, or breathing, for that matter. Thankyouverymuch.

All I can see after a stretch of days like these, is the disaster. Nothing is clean. Not even me.

Last night, I decided I had had enough with the current state of the boys wild manes and figured I'd put my new clippers to good use. They were happy with the fact that they are better than my old ones, therefore faster, and I was happy with the fact I got them to agree to a quick cut after dinner, but before dessert.

When I was about halfway through Cooper's hair, (which he said he wanted to look like "the guy from Maroon 5") he said, "thanks, Mom. It's cool that you can cut my hair." I stopped cutting to thank him and let my heart puddle a bit. He wasn't done, though.

"Mom, you can do like...anything."

His voice seemed a little surprised, like he just had the revelation.

It was right then, that I had a revelation of my own. He doesn't see the 5 loads of laundry that are partially folded in the living room. He doesn't see the mountain of dirty dishes, or the ring around the toilet bowl.

He sees a mom that does so many "mom" things, that it seems as if I can do anything. There are a host of things that I can't do, but he doesn't know that. To him, I could fly to the moon and back. And I'd totally do it for him, if I could.

It's so easy to get caught up in the state of my house during the long days I spend in it, to forget about the short years that are flying by so very quickly. My house and all it's mess will still be living here in 20 years. My babies probably won't be.

Moments like last night make me so grateful for this gift of motherhood. They also make me want to refocus on enjoying that motherhood, no matter how crazy it gets sometimes.

And speaking of crazy, these boys and their cool new hair gave me smile and eyes on the camera at the same time. If that's not crazy, I don't know what is.

Fall Fashion Inspiration

Do you see all those cute outfits on Pinterest and wish you could just have them right in your closet? Yeah, me too. I find myself pinning tons of outfits and I really want to be better about actually wearing some of them!
Here's a collection of fabulous bloggers, rocking some of my favorites looks, as of late. I linked to similar pieces that are all under $100, but most of them are under $50!

Weekend Wrap-Up

The weekends always go by so quickly! We managed to pack a whole ton into this past one, though. I like to get in the weekend mindset by Friday, so I kicked off Thursday night with some homemade Apple Cider Donuts. My sis in law sent me the recipe and I couldn't say no! They were pretty simple, too. The recipe is here if you want it!

Friday afternoon got so warm that the lake and pumpkin beer called my name.

Which led to Friday night line dancing till the wee hours. It will definitely not be my time doing the boot scootin boogie!

My sweet boy made it to the flag football championships and they played their little hearts out for the last game. So proud of him! We'll be taking a couple weeks break before basketball starts up.

We spent a lot of time on the lake on Saturday. Callan's boat naps are always his longest, so that's just another good excuse for us!

We love that our favorite beach doesn't have anyone on it lately. I guess it's too cool for these North Carolinians!

When the sun started to set, we made a little bonfire on the shore. The boys loved roasting marshmallows!

I tried to plan my bedroom gallery wall on Sunday, but I only have 2 pictures currently on the wall. The rest of the stuff is sitting next to the bed and I think I need a few more things before being able to complete it. I seriously love this one from Hobby Lobby, though!

Sunday morning was cool enough for boots and a dress. Which may be my favorite thing to wear during the fall! This tunic dress is part of the new fall line at Molly Suzanne Boutique.

By afternoon Sunday, it had warmed up just enough for a little boat ride. Callan made sure to bring his "aldergator". I had some leftovers from bringing snacks to a football game and the boys think they struck gold. Little do they know there's only a few left and then they're not getting anymore!

We will be hitting high 30s one night this week, so I think our fast boat and swimming days are almost done for the summer. We'll be slow cruising in our sweatshirts for a bit longer, I'm sure. Good thing our winter isn't too long here!

Hope you had a fantastic weekend, too! This week, I'm doing some birthday party planning for a certain almost 3 year old (hold me) and starting on my Thanksgiving menu. I'm hosting my family of 15 and I can't wait!

Disney World in Pictures

Oh hey, here's the world longest post! This is literally like 1/4 of the pictures on my camera, let alone the majority of the pictures that I took on my phone while we were in Disney. I'm working on a post of all the tips you need to know about planning and taking your trip to Disney World, but for now, here's a peek at some of my fave shots. You better take a bathroom break before we get going...

It's hard to get a spot, but if you get to Hollywood Studios early, you can get your child signed up for Jedi Training. We were so excited that Coop got in and got to fight Darth Vader!

Yes, Frozen is EVERYWHERE in Disney right now. The sing along was cute and really funny and a certain 2 year old of ours sang at the very top of his lungs, along with all the girls. Hehe.

Quite possibly my favorite thing this trip, was getting to go to the beast castle! The whole new Fantasyland in Magic Kingdom is so cool. It has the castle, Gaston's Tavern, a Little Mermaid ride, Snow White's Mine Train and more. It's also super crowded and really hard to get into the Be Our Guest restaurant, but if you're going, you must eat there!
Stilettos and Diapers: Disney World
They even have "The Grey Stuff" and yes, it was delicious!
Stilettos and Diapers: Disney World Stilettos and Diapers: Disney World
The enchanted rose is in the west wing of the castle and the whole place looks just like the movie. Me and all the other 80's babies were total fan club there. And we got to meet the beast!

I'm already planning when we should go again. Magic, y'all. There's nothing like it!
