Stilettos and Diapers: May 2014

Mommy Vacation

Ever get back from vacation and feel like you need a vacation after all that work? Oh, every time? Me too.

I love going to the beach with my family, as we typically do every year, but, it's work for me. Theres dishes, cooking, laundry and cleaning. Yes, I'm relaxing at the beach, but it's not quite as much as I'd like. I know I'll be changing diapers, cutting people's food and chasing runaways no matter where we go away to, but that's about all I want to do! I like a break from all the cooking, cleaning, laundry and grocery shopping and would love all my food served to me, please.

So, for those reasons, in 64 days until we're headed back to the middle of the ocean on a Carnival Cruise! I don't have to do anything but show up, really. I don't have to cook a thing. My mani will last the whole week since I won't be cleaning. I don't even have to put anyone in a carseat! Mommy vacation at it's finest!

I love that Carnival has the awesome kids program, Camp Carnival, too. Cooper loved going last year and this year, Callan is old enough to go. Hopefully, they get their acts on the same schedule so we can sneak to the quiet, adults only pool for awhile!

We're headed out of Miami on Carnival's new ship, the Breeze. I'm over the moon excited! Here are the ports we will be stopping at.

Grand Turk, Turks and Caicos
Carnival Breeze: Grand Turk

La Romana, Dominican Republic
Carnival Breeze: La Romana

Carnival Breeze: Curacao

Carnival Breeze: Aruba

To top off all the luxury I'll be basking in, the kids will have a blast for themselves. From insane water slides to Carnival's new partnership with Dr Seuss rolling out this year (green eggs and ham breakfast anyone?!) it's bound to be a great time.

If you have recommendations for excursions or anything about the areas we'll be stopping at, let me know!

Thank you Carnival for providing this trip for my family. All opinions are my own.

Wore this outfit last weekend to church, followed by Cooper's end of the year baseball party at a local park. I was a little dressed up for the latter, but I was comfy! I'm a big fan of skirts and dresses in the summertime and if they have pockets?! Sign me right up. How gorgeous are those earrings, though? Just got them in stock and they'll be coming to Molly Suzanne in coral and teal very soon!

Clothes for Cooper are now all coming from the "big boy" section. It's breaking my heart that I can't buy sizes that are followed by a "T" anymore, but man. When I look at how awesome this kid is, I guess it's okay for him to keep getting bigger!

With the great amount of character shirts this kid wears to school, I love that he will take a break for the cool duds from FabKids. $29.95 for a complete outfit and $15 for your first one, you can't really go wrong!

We have 1o more school days left. 10 days. I am SO excited to spend the summer with both my boys together! One thing we'll be working on over the next 3 months, is shoe tying. He isn't there just yet, but with these no tie Converse from Shoe Carnival, he doesn't really have to be.

Ever want to steal your kids shoes? Cause I do.

Floral Fashion
Have you guys gotten into the floral fashion trend yet? Whether you like them or not, florals are EVERYTHING this season and really every season. Even when they're not in style, you see them in home decor, necklaces, phone covers, gym bags like this one, and more! Much to my hubs' chagrin I've jumped into this trend wholeheartedly. He and Molly's husband have a few things in common it sounds like...Eric (my husband) tends to not like rompers, lace, ruffles or florals. Sorry,'ll just have to bare with me sometimes...I'm way into all the girly things!

What I like about this Everly dress is that it brings in the florals but it isn't overwhelming. The flowers on the lower half scream girly and flirty while the blue solid part on top with the cut out back makes it a little more put together and refined. And shockingly enough, due to the sexy little cut out I think ;) the hubs approves of this look. Here's how I styled this look:

We had amazing weather all weekend and it inspired me to wear almost every color I own. My new bag from Lina Jake was the icing on the cake. So bright and fun, it's actually a perfect diaper bag. It has pockets for 2 drinks (that even hold my Camelbak), a great spot for diapers and wipes, plenty of open space and pockets everywhere.

I'm so back and forth on carrying a diaper bag or a purse lately. When we do runs to the park, I have so many snacks and drinks in my purse that it gets messy, but I don't want to carry a huge diaper bag. This one totally gets a 10 from me! Check out Lina Jake's bags and use the code STILETTOS20 for 20% off your purchase!
