Its recipe time! First off, I think you need a disclaimer.
1) I will never take amazing food porn pics. {Unless, of course, someone gives me major photog lessons}
2) I am a recipe adjuster. I come up with a bunch myself, but I like to take recipes and make them my own.
3) I do lots of substitution for healthier ingredients, but I love butter. {Holla, Paula Deen}
The end.
Spinach Bacon Quiche
Fry up the bacon and set aside. {I use turkey bacon.}
While its cooking, slice the onion very thin.
Add shredded swiss cheese.
1 stick of butter (Told, ya)
2 onions
5 oz fresh spinach
7 whole eggs
1 1/2 cups heavy cream
2 cups grated swiss cheese (I use reduced fat)
Salt and pepper to taste
Loosely cover with foil and bake at 400 for 1 hour. Remove foil for last 10 minutes of cooking.
The crust I use for everything:
1/3 cup butter
4 oz cream cheese
3/4 cup flour
Cut until mixture resembles small pebbles. It isn't a great roll out crust, but perfect for pressing into a pie pan.
I made this for dinner, but it would be perfect for breakfast or brunch. The hubs was uber skeptical, cause it is quiche and all, but he not only ate it, but enjoyed it. Awesome.

Looks delish! I'll have to give this a try!
ReplyDeleteNice pics! I am not an egg or cheese person, otherwise I'd say looks delicious! LOL. But I know you are a good cook so I know no doubt it was. Why doesn't B like quiche? Does he like eggs and cheese?

ReplyDeleteYummmmmmm, guess what I'll be making this week?!
ReplyDeleteThis looks oh so yummy!!
ReplyDeleteMy Hubs loves quiche and I hate it. Mostly becuase his mom just puts raw onions in all of her quiches and I hate the crunchy onions... So, I'm definitely going to try this since I love onions when they're soft!!! Thanks for the post!
ReplyDeleteMy Twitter id is: ChelsiYarger Thanks!
OK, first I do not think you need the "I don't take good food porn pictures" disclaimer anymore because they are actually pretty decent.
ReplyDeleteSecond this post is making me very hungry!
Third, my real man won't touch quiche with a ten foot pole, no matter what I put in it. Seriously, once I load it up with every heart-attack-waiting-to-happen food I could think of that he loves and he still ate the tiniest piece possible! I gave up!!!
That looks amazing! And I'm awful at food porn pics myself. One day maybe with a good camera and someone else photoging it my food pics will be look good. :)
ReplyDeleteThat looks ahhhhhhmazing! (when you read that, sing it. haha)
ReplyDeleteYummy. SO going to try this.
ReplyDeleteIt looks delicious! Too bad my hubby won't eat bacon. or onions. or spinach. Or any type of food that's mixed together.
ReplyDeletelooks so yummy. hubs is an onion hater. wonder if it could taste good without onions?
ReplyDeletedo you use that crust for dessert pies too? It sounds so good!
Looks yummy!
ReplyDeleteI rarely follow recipes. When it comes to baked goods I do, but dinner and stuff, not so much. And I LOVE quiche! My hubby does too. It's SO good and so easy!! And I love having leftovers too!! Your's looks delish!!!
ReplyDeleteI have to make this, it looks amazing.
ReplyDeletethat looks sooooooo good!!!! I've never had quiche before.... but this has me interested enough.
ReplyDeleteMmmmmmm....If only I could get hubby and kiddos to eat it.
ReplyDeleteNevermind. I'll make it and eat the whole thing myself.
