Fashion Friday - Its kindof fallish.

It finally got "chilly" here this week. We are in the mid 40's at night, and mid 60's during the day. I literally wear 3 outfits a day because it goes from cold, to warmish, and then back to cold. At least I don't have to feel bad about busting out a scarf. Wanna see? Mmmhum. Thought so!

Wordful Wednesday - Halloween Sneak Peak

Yesterday, my Mom's Club had our Halloween Party. I bought Cooper's costume the day after Halloween last year for $4, yeah, because I'm still cheap. We are dressing him up all over again for a party and trick or treating on Saturday, (and you know I will show you millions of pics of that) but I couldn't resist showing off my little penguin right now.

He held his little bag for "fish" the entire party, and was really excited once candy went in there.

My sis Casey has the same cheap thrifty gene that I do. She has it so bad, actually, that her husband told me to please go buy her some clothes and send him the bill. She just wouldn't go shopping for herself. You all know I am not about to miss out on shopping for me, myself and I.

Groceries? Now that's a whole different story. I try. Really. I buy chicken every 3 weeks and stock up, because that's when it goes on sale for less than half price. The problem is, that Safeway is less than 2 miles from my house. Safeway also has a Starbucks AND Jamba Juice inside. The cashiers there are pretty much my BFs. They know my name. They know what movies I'm checking out of Redbox. They know I love the 10% discount when you buy 6 bottles of wine. But, they are also super expensive.

Casey has a ridiculously low grocery bill. Why? Because of Hungry Little Hippos. She cuts coupons, meal plans, and has the ads for all the stores discounts. She does alot of work to save the money, but now is giving me and all of you the savings without having to do the research she does. Isn't she a peach? All you have to do is read her blog to find out what deals are where. Use your coupons on the items she tells you to and...

VOILA!

You're a money saving machine! I am really going to crack down on this food bill of mine. I'm excited for my sis helping me out with this! Now get on over to her blog and save away!

It's Friday! Do the happy dance! Actually, I lie. Its Thursday night and I am watching Real Housewives of the ATL. That's my 'hood yo! I can't wait for November 5th when the OC girls come back!!

Anyhoodle, here's what I was rockin today. Wait. I lie. Again. I just dressed up for the pics. I think I am wearing this outfit this weekend when I have girls day with my amazing friend, Maggie, while the boys go see the Raiders-Jets game. Seriously, on to the pics.

Blue Tunic: Old Navy. Want the whole story? Well, you're getting it anyway. I had been thinking about getting the hubs to get me a coat for my b-day. Then, I won a $50 off $100 purchase coupon from Old Navy. I went and found a coat that I LOVE for $90, this top, and 2 other things (can't say...they're for Christmas), all for $60. I was so excited!

Black patent Pumps: Dear by Amanda Bynes. Ha! I have something that has Amanda Bynes name on it. Don't judge. If I like it, I buy it.

Random thoughts...

1. After seeing that side view pic, I think I need a chin lift, or tuck. Or whatever they call it. Ugg!

2. Also from the same pic, see all those short hairs? Did anyone else start growing new hairs after you had your baby? Or maybe I am a total freak-of-nature. Hummm.

3. Target's boxed Sangria is actually delicious. I bought red and white, and so far, have just tasted the white. Its goood!

Be still my little heart...

We moved to this lovely land called California 3 years ago. A place that happens to quake and make my dishes clatter every once in a while. A place my Dad always told me would fall off the face of the earth. We moved with the intention of being here for 12-18 months.

After only 6 months...SURPRISE! My belly grew. Just before time for the baby, we thought we were moving east, but no, stay we did. 18 more months in the same apartment that was meant for 2 people. No grass for little feet, not really enough room for the fam to come visit.

Finally, I have had enough. I wish with all my heart that I could be telling you I am moving back east. But no, this is just the next best thing. We have decided to move to a house! We need space to spread out, and no more stairs! We are just going to rent since there is a tiny flicker of hope somewhere that we won't live here forever! Our lease is up at the end of November, and we have 2 houses that we are debating on. We really love them and I would be super happy with either one. We are going to talk to both tomorrow and the best deal wins! I just hope no one has swiped them from us in the past 6 hours.

By the Book: How to take care of MY kids.

Her timing was oh so perfect, as we just started leaving Cooper with a sitter. Then, my in-laws were here, and even though I trust them, it is so nice to be able to give them all the particulars about my little man, without talking for hours.

This book covers all the basis. Basics, including routine, foods and favs, emergency info, medical info, a section for babysitters to take notes, and parents to keep all the sitter info. There are things that I have never thought about leaving for a sitter, but they just make so much sense! All you have to do is fill in the blanks on the pages that look like this.

The book is available as a hardcover book, or an e-book. I got the e-book version. It is a 100 page book, split into 5 sections, that I got in Google Documents. I just had to print off what I wanted, and put it into a cute binder. I never have to scribble a list of things down on Hannah Montana paper and leave it for the sitter again. I bought the paper for the hubs as a joke and I am the one embarrassingly using it.

I am a bit of a perfectionist. This book is great so when something changes, I can just print or purchase a new page instead of scratching stuff out. Cooper turns 2 and starts eating peanuts? New page. New emergency contact digits? New page. New bedtime? New page! Get it?

This book is PERFECT if you use a sitter, have family or friends keep your kids, or lets face it, for your forgetful husband. Last night my hubby put Cooper down and "forgot" to change his diaper, brush his teeth or wash his face. Should have left the book out for him!

Wordful Wednesday - Pumpkin Patch

Last weekend we went to the pumpkin patch. Cooper has the best time running around a pointing at everything. Today he said "pumpkin" when I gave him the tiny one he picked out at the patch. He's growing up too fast!

I only know a few things today. None of them are exciting, so if you want to leave, please don't, just suck it up and hang out with me its okay.

First, it's cold. Well, relatively cold. I'm so sorry for you sweet peeps that are already fighting the snow and frigid temps, while I gripe about it being 45 here. The good news is, I have had 2 cups of hot chocolate, and I am happily wrapped in my Snuggie. Shocked I would have this? See how it happened here.


We are supposed to get rain tonight. CRAZY! It hasn't rained here in months, so I am kindof excited. I am the proud owner of this beauty, so I always hope for a chance to use it.
Although, I desperately need a tan, and that rain means I'm not getting it. This time of year is so hard as I grieve the loss of my summer glow. Doesn't everything just look better when it's tan?

Next, I'm freakin tired. I took a nap yesterday and today, slept a good bit last night, and still, I literally couldn't move my badonkadonk off the couch today. I had to hire a tiny man to prop one of my eyes open so Cooper didn't leave the house. Maybe it's just motherhood. Maybe the exhaustion from the hubs being gone for 6 days last week is catching up. Maybe I drank too much wine in Napa over the weekend and I am in a 2 day hangover. Humm. Does that happen?

We did get to slip away on a date night over the weekend while the in-laws watched Cooper. We went to see Couple's Retreat. It wasn't as funny as I had hoped for, so I say wait and rent it on DVD. What is the world coming to when you can't count on Vince Vaughn to make you pee your pants from laughing?

I gotta say, I am a bit boring today. I don't always wear saran wrap pants, or fabulous booties. Some days, I am just tired of fancying it up. And honestly, I look like this most of the time.

We are headed with the in-laws up to Napa for some vino tasting. Yummay! It's not exactly fall weather today, but I am throwing in some fallish colors!

How to have 5 house guest...and live to tell about it.

I have had house guests. Lots of them. Wanna know how to make your life easier next time this happens to you?

First and foremost, you need to be perfectly fine with your house looking like this:

Set up a cute box of disposable dishes and announce that you will be washing NOTHING for the next week.

Meal plan. Write it out so people are prepared, and then load the top of your fridge with carbs. They make people full quick.

Cut yourself some slack one night and order pizza!
And last but not least, have copious amounts of wine and chocolate. How can you go wrong with that?
And there you have it. You no longer have to be afraid of the in-laws.
