I'm so sad.

Anyone who wants to send me dark chocolate or tulips can go right ahead, although I am not boo-hoo sad. Not singing the blues, emotional eating, or going through countless boxes of tissues. I'm sad, as in pathetic sad, over my Christmas list. I have been Christmas shopping, (I like to plan ahead) and I am actually about halfway through. Pat on my own back. I am good for everyone but me. Like you, I'm sure, I get the "what do you want for Christmas" questions from the family. I usually say nothing, which is a complete lie. I can just never remember what I want. I mean, I always remember that I wanted a million dollar check, but I forget all the reasonable things.
To prevent this, I have decided to start making my list now. My birthday is also in November, so I can pick things from my list for that, too.

On to the sadness, my list. It's looserish. Here is all I can come up with:

Trifle bowl
This is #1. I really, really want it, even though I'm not sure how much I will actually use it.

Maybe this one from Crate and Barrel.

Or this one from The Pampered Chef. How cool is that with a removable stem and lid?

And we have one item left. Yep, my list has 2 items. The second:

Creamshave

It's really bad when you see something you want to try, and think, this would be a perfect stocking stuffer for me. I'll add it to my list. See? I'm sad.

  6. I have a trifle bowl from Crate and Barrel and I use it a lot actually! I have used it for punch too, which was weird but worked out well since I don't have a punch bowl! I have a TON of awesome trifle recipes so just let me know if Santa brings one your way :-)

  7. I think this is a getting older thing. I used to get Victoria's Secret goodies and gift cards for Christmas from family, after I got married we got couple and house stuff. I'm not complaining by any means but it's just a sign that things change when you get older. Can't wait to see what I end up with after the baby gets here, haha. We're telling everyone to buy our baby something this year for Christmas (since that's when I'm due) instead of buying us things. Good luck w/ the Triffle bowl :)

  8. LOL sounds like my christmas wish list and my birthday wish list... BF asked me what I want for my birthday, which is in a couple weeks, and I said "nothing." but that's totally not true.

But I hope he knows I'm lying!

  9. My christmas list is more pathetic. I can not think of a single tangible thing.

  10. I registered for that C&B trifle bowl and totally didn't get it. I was always a little sad about. This year though, we're just asking for Best Buy gift cards cause we want a DSLR camera. Yey for gift cards!

  11. Girl, as you can see most of us are in the same boat! I usually have to sift through magazine ads or the store ads that come through the newspaper.

I can sometimes name a perfume or a book, but ultimately end up buying for myself b/c I simply cannot wait that long! LOL

I always say to my parents "nothing says love like a Visa giftcard". Then I can shop for myself and it's come in handy when I needed new tires!

Oh, if people say they don't want to get you a gift card b/c they want something you can wrap, instruct them that they fit very well in any size box that can be wrapped ;) I kid...I kid...

  12. Oh yeah, you really have to add to that list! But, I'm like you, I always say "nothing."

Love Pampered Chef's version of the trifle bowl.

  13. I'll totally do that too; I once had a really bad craving for cashews at the same time someone asked me what I wanted for my birthday, so that's what I said. I ended up with three pounds of them.

Gift certificates are good, but don't go the make-up route; ask for one for a massage or a spa treatment. Pampering is a great and very personal gift!

  15. Scott and I do Amazon wish lists and they are super handy for family! Start one and then let your parents, etc know it is there. They can shop off that. You can add to it from any website including Amazon! That way, you can also add to it throughout the year as you think of stuff. :)

  16. Girl, I haven't even started!! Although now I'm thinking I should start making a list of what I want to get other people...plus I guess I need to make a list too for myself!

I found that Tiffany's has a lot of jewelry for under $150, so I pick out things on there all the time (imagining when Evs will buy one of them for me!). Also, Victoria's Secret has great clothes & accessories, so my parents will sometimes get me a gift card for there. Also, you could pick out some accessories from Forever 21 online, and write down the style numbers or descriptions and give that to whoever asks. I know how much you love that store! :) And they have super cheap yet stylish accessories!
